Relax on Your Porch or by Your Pool and Enjoy This Delicious Beverage

What can be better on a hot summer afternoon than a cold glass of homemade lemonade? This recipe is so simple, nutritious, and refreshing. There are only 4 ingredients. You mix them together and chill the citrus concoction and enjoy!

The lemon juice is loaded with vitamin C. Lemon juice is also a fat burner. It helps to boost your metabolism and aids in digestion. The orange juice is a high vitamin C food as well. By adding a little orange juice the bitterness of the lemon is curbed and less sugar is needed for sweetening.

Obviously the sugar in the recipe is the least healthy ingredient. You may substitute with an artificial sweetener if you choose to. You may want to take into consideration the chemically based artificial sweetener compared to natural sugar and which is actually healthier. Of course, the sugar will have more calories, but will also provide more energy on those hot days.

The adult variation of this beverage would be to reduce the sugar amount by half and add an ounce of flavored vodka. Orange, lemon, or even strawberry flavored vodka would be quite yummy. If you choose to enjoy the adult version of the beverage, please understand that the calorie count per 12 ounce serving will change from 83 to 122 calories.

Not only does this beverage look delicious, it is delicious! Make sure you find time to give it a try this summer; or anytime during the year!

When chilled and served over ice with a lemon or orange wedge as garnish, your back yard bar-b-queue or pool party will can enjoy this tasty summertime beverage. Not only is this a suitable refreshment during the summer, but this treat can be enjoyed all throughout the year.

The beverage can be enhanced by light snacks like Monterey jack or Pepper jack cheese and wheat crackers. Sliced or chunks of melon make for a tasty side kick as does a salty snack such as pretzels or nutritious protein rich nuts.

The recipe makes a half gallon of lemonade. It yields about five 12 ounce servings. Use a 16 ounce glass, however since it is served over ice.
