You can start a cat at any age!

An Alternative For Kitty Instead of Using a Litter Box

Hello there cat owners! The title of this hub sounds too good to be true, right? Well it is true! You can potty train a cat of any age, breed and size (provided kitty can jump up on the toilet).

Once your cat is litter box trained, it takes anywhere from four to twelve weeks for the complete conversion from box to toilet. You begin by keeping a small litter box next to the toilet. After a week, raise the box by putting something stable underneath; like phone books or a small stool. After another week goes by, put the litter box on top of your toilet with the lid closed. At this point you will need a kit to finish training your cat. You can purchase these kits online or in pet stores. It is recommended you get a strong, sturdy kit that doesn’t wiggle when kitty jumps up to use it.

If you want to be successful in potty training your cat, there are two things that must be done. First, the owner(s) need to be patient, understanding, helpful and rewarding in order to make the transition easy for the cat. Secondly, the litter box and kit need to be kept as clean as possible so that kitty isn’t turned off by the smell, choosing to relieve himself/herself elsewhere.

The savings in the cost of litter pays for the initial training kit. The house doesn't smell like a litter box. Kitty is pleased. It is a more sanitary way for Kitty to do her business, and your talented cat becomes a topic of discussion with your friends, neighbors, and family.

Don't Under Estimate the Intelligence Level of Your Cat

Cats really are quite intelligent creatures. That being said, this process isn't full proof. I have an exceptionally intelligent cat who refused to use the human toilet. She knew it wasn't natural, and wasn't going to change her ways. (She was only a year and half old). Needless to say, the kit is not 100 % guaranteed, but it certainly has a high success rate of 80%.

http://petshopperspalace.com/blog/?tag=litter-kwitter writes, "it would be higher if humans would stop to follow all of the simple instructions and showed a bit more patience."

Stage 2

Stage two is the most difficult transition for your cat. This is the first time he or she will see the hole leading to the water in the toilet. Please be patient and give kitty lots of time to adjust.

Stage 3

At Stage three you are almost there! Be sure not to rush your cat, however.

"I just have to tell you how impressed I am with this product. I was of course skeptical but we live in a small apartment and I am so sick of my bathroom stinking from the litter box. So I thought what the heck. We have nothing to lose. Not only am I amazed at the results but we've had so much fun doing it. I have a seven year old boy and it has been a very fun positive event for all of us. I certainly wasn't expecting such fast results. This product is amazing. Thank you for creating it. My bathroom does not smell anymore. YAY!!"

Sincerely a happy cat and a happy mom.

I hope you learned a lot from the videos, and could imagine your fluffy feline behaving the same way in a very short period of time!

Please spay or neuter your pets! There are thousands of unwanted animals put down every week! And, by all means, please adopt from a shelter should you decide to add a new, lovable family member.

As always, I certainly hope this was helpful.
