It's Not All About The Skin; Eating Healthy Will Slow The Aging Process

Nutrition plays a huge role in the health of your skin. Blue Berries and Strawberries are excellent foods to enhance your complexion. Fish is also extremely good for the skin, considering the omega 3 oils help moisturize from the inside out.

Genetics also plays a part in the aging process. It is highly likely that you will follow in your parents’ footsteps on the issue. If your parents are young looking for their age, chances are you will be too. If gray hair or crow’s feet are family traits that show up early, chances are you may have inherited one or both of those genes. Take a look at your parents, and determine how much work you will have to do to look 10 years younger.

Stress can destroy a person’s health in every aspect. Stress is dangerous for the heart. And, stress is dangerous for the emotional, mental, and/or physical parts of someone. Find ways to relax when you have down time. I realize that, for some of you, down time may seem to be impossible. Well I encourage you to make time for 2 hours of down time per week, minimum. You will be healthier and more relaxed. This, in turn, will make you more productive!

Smoking will age a person much quicker than a non-smoker ages. I quit smoking in 2003, and have had many compliments on my youthful look compared to the older look I had when I was smoking.

Basic Products That Make You Look Younger

Cleansing is the most important thing you can do for your face. It is important to find a cleanser that you are compatible with. We are all individuals and have individual needs. So, by all means, buy a few that you want to try (if you don’t already have a favorite) and give it a go! You may want to change cleansers once or twice a year due to the effects of seasonal weather.

Using a good toner on your face (neck, shoulders, chest, hands, & feet) is important for closing clean pores. Please purchase an alcohol-free product if at all possible. Basic Oil of Olay for moisturizing has never failed me. I usually use it at night and Neutrogena moisturizer with an SPF of 45 or higher during the day.

Mud or clay masks are wonderful for tightening your skin and exfoliating the dead skin cells off your face. It assists in tightening pores, and it makes you feel wonderful!

Preparation H hemorrhoid Cream works wonders for wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. It is made to shrink tissue. Therefore, it will shrink the tissue around your eyes causing you to look younger. Unfortunately, this is only a temporary fix, but it’s painless and inexpensive!

Cocoa Butter or Almond Butter body lotions are essential for the rest of the body. We can’t neglect the arms, legs, back, and abdomen. Use these lotions 2-3 times a day when living in a dry climate. If you reside in a more humid climate, only once every other day should be fine, unless you have hormone issues that often accompany puberty or menopause.

Basic Techniques That Make You Look Younger

Your complexion doesn’t stop at your face. People age in places other than the face. It is important to treat your neck, chest, shoulders, hands and feet as you do your face. These are the most used and exposed parts of your body. Throughout this hub I will refer to all previously mentioned parts as the face, reminding you on occasion exactly what I mean by that.

Always remember, gravity is not your friend. When cleansing or applying make-up, use your ring fingers (they are the weakest finger on your hand and are less likely to damage your delicate skin), and apply the product using an upward circular motion. Examine your face and find your trouble spots; the places that are sagging a bit more or there are more wrinkles. Focus on those problem areas.

Any type of facial stimulation will cause the blood to rise to the surface of your skin giving you a glowing, pinkish look; a healthy look. Light massage, soft touches and electric massagers work wonders on stimulating the capillaries in the face, neck, chest, shoulders, hands and feet.

When at all possible, pamper yourself. If you can afford a day at the spa, then go for it! For those of us who can’t make a habit of that luxury need to come up with some alternative ideas. Well, how about a 2 hour date with your bathroom? Take a warm bubble bath with your favorite music. Have a glass of wine, or cool sparkling water. Put a mud mask on your face and shave your hairy parts. After soaking for a bit, start your own mani/pedi. Yes, you are going to do it yourself.

I guarantee you will leave the bathroom feeling totally relaxed, sexy, and younger!

Water~Water~Water

Water is nature’s way of keeping us young and healthy. In order to stay hydrated the average adult human needs between 72 ounces and 90 ounces per day, depending on activity level. Coffee, tea, sodas and alcoholic beverages do not count as “water.” Most of us don’t drink nearly enough water to be properly hydrated. Well, I promise you, if you maintain the proper hydration level, you will become younger looking.

The liquid fills all the cells which adds volume to your skin, and ultimately fills in the wrinkles a bit. If you do nothing else I’ve outlined in this article, please drink the water. It has so many benefits in addition to helping you look ten years younger. It flushes out toxins that we all ingest one way or another. It keeps your digestive tract healthy. It helps in weight loss by giving the impression of a full feeling and causing you to drink less caloric beverages.

I started drinking the daily amount of water required to keep me hydrated, and one day, a former employee stopped by my place of employment to say hello. She couldn’t believe how much younger I looked. I was drinking the appropriate amount of water for about six months before I saw my friend again.

Please drink your water! I will be writing more on this subject in the future.

Good Bye For Now...

Thank you for taking the time to read my hub. I hope it makes you feel beautiful!
